The Value of Craftsmanship

As a child, I spent summer days helping my father and grandfather with projects around the barn and house. My main jobs were to pay attention, to think ahead and anticipate what they’d need, and to not slow them down. I learned a great deal from these men, both skilled craftsmen in different trades. They shared their knowledge, their tips, their mistakes — and the time I spent with them shaped me. More than anything, it gave me the desire to create with my hands, and the confidence to do it well.

As an adult, I’ve had the good fortune of traveling extensively with my wife, with whom I share a passion for design and old-world architecture. Our journeys together — and the thousands of photos I’ve taken of interesting ceilings, doors, and details while she stood patiently waiting — have given me the aesthetic eye that brings magic to the skills I learned as a child.

In every project I work on, whether for family, friends, or clients, I feel that connection to my roots. I am proud to carry on my family legacy through the lens of my own experiences, and I’m excited to draw inspiration for new projects from the ideas of my clients.

Let’s build something beautiful.
